Tone Trydal from Norway moved to Lahti two years ago to study engraving at Salpaus Further Education. She had studied goldsmithing before but wanted to learn more about engraving.
"I talked to an engraver in Norway and he said that he had heard about this school", says Tone.
Now Tone is graduating from Salpaus. She has enjoyed her studies and has got many new friends from Finland.
"I have learned a lot here. I also have studied Finnish language, but it´s a bit difficult. Fortunately the teachers speak English here."
Tone plans to move back to Norway.
"Finland is a great country, but Lahti is too big city for me", says Tone. Her hometown Seljord has only a few thousand citizens.
"In the future I would like to have my own workshop and do jewellery and engraving. It´s possible if I work for it and do the right things."
